Peer Review

Film Opening Peer Review Form Up The Score│ By JoeBuckersProductions  The thing I like most about my peer's video was the transitions specifically when one of them kicked it to the camera to the point we only see that shadow then with the shadow they used it to transition right back to the player's face. And the  dialogue  they had when Joseph (Defender) was trash-talking the main protagonist when he blocked his shot.  I thought this film was damn  near perfect it was a lot like The Rise project the kids from Cambridge made from their opening scene so I didn't dislike anything.  Well  personally  it was a nice 2-minute  clip of friends going toe to toe against one another if they left it off as maybe the striker about to make the goal then cut it off before he kicked the ball into the net that may make me want to know what happens next but it felt like they put a whole plot of a movie into those mere minutes so it  didn'...

Editing 2

Image
For Editing #1 I was focused on making the grain on our video not as bad as it was with the neat video demo now I'm trying to edit our opening scene of Floridas everglade ranch as I'm now putting key frames on my audio to make it slowly fade and rise up as how I set my film dissolve fade on my video. Then I proceeded to incorporate our logos as me being the distributor, Johlissa (partner) playing the production, and Michael (partner) being film department. And for me and Johlissa I personally made the logos with Adobe Photoshop with me just getting a dog blacking it out adding in my shapes and her name and with me a free image of a hand and simply putting my name under. Then I proceeded to try and see if I could make the stock footage pop a little more so I used Adobe Premiere Pro Lumetri Color to try to adjust the brightness to make it look brighter for the light areas and shadows to make the shadows to look darker and pop out more. Lastly I made adjustments to my temperature ...

Editing

With having experience with editing using the app Premiere Pro last year for my Video Tech class along with getting the certification and using to form my sound art project out of the 3 of us in our group I'd say I have the most experience. Now to start off with effects, I used a black and white filter of the video and lowered the opacity of it so the video below it with color could be darker as we wanted a low-lighting/  dark tone for our video some other effects would be a simple fade of text when introducing our characters.  And for this being a form of a documentary we're planning to use simple fade transitions between each video since our video is not action packed whats so ever. Now the biggest problem with editing was trying to reduce all the grain within the video as we failed to realized that when iPhones record in low lighting has a lot of grain to show compared to broad daylight I've spent an the whole entire night find...

Shooting

To start off filming we went to the library used a black screen, along with three key lighting and using an iPhone 11 Pro Max to record our scene being about the people who witnessed the tragic Sugar Rush robbery. Now being the editor of this the sound went great we had everyone silent in the library but for video it was pretty grainy and hard to reduced it so I personally had to use a 3rd party plugin called Neat Video to try to remove of the grain the best way I can apart from that everything went well we had some laughs especially with our nerdy and southern acting we had going along and we only needed one reshoot of our southern male as I kept making him laugh as he was trying to play his role. The only thing we need left is to add in some transitions, titles, and stock images and that's about it.

Challenges in film

Some challenges in filming is getting all the actors to meet up at one spot but luckily we decided to do this scene during school as our wonderful teacher/librarian allowed us to record in the library. Some other challenges are the funding needed for filming while 2 of us don't have jobs or money in general but one of us is a grown boy and works at Publix so he was able to rent out the black screen, props, costumes, lighting, etc for us. Furthermore, learning how to set up the pros and lightings was a little challenge because these were new task some of us never did before but was fun learning how to though. But in the end I would say everyone is holding their weight as member 1 is funding for this project as well as recording , member 2 is making the script, and member three will be doing the editing of the film.

Costuming

Image
- (Robber): We'd have our actor playing the role as Robert dressed in a all black attire with jacket, pants, shoes all being black. They add a a sense of this guy is the main antagonist giving off a meaning vibe. As the color black in Mise - En - Scene  - (Civilians being interviewed): We'd have our actors playing the civilian Role dressed in regular clothing such as a simply plain shirt, maybe some caky shorts or long jeans with some air Jordans consiting of positive light colors of red, blue, yellow, light, colors of the Mise - En - Scene these colors are more on the positive side and gives emotions off like ecstatic.  - (News Anchor): We'd have our actors playing News Anchor wear a nice simple suit with the colors of white, gray, or blue which gives off as an professional look as News Anchors need to look sharp and those colors in Mise - en - Scene gives off the feelings of businesses and professionalism.  - (Store Clerk): Now for Store depending on the store or gas st...
